Some 53 senior high schools in the Ashanti Region are under investigation by the criminal investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana police service over alleged corruption in the supply of school feeding programme under free senior high school policy.
Management of the Ghana Education Service has written that they have received a letter from the criminal investigation Department of the Ghana police service, which indicates that they are investigating some issue related to the supply of food to some of the senior high schools in the Ashanti Region.

GES has therefore written a statement directing the District Directors in which the attached list of schools are located, to release the headmaster/headmistress or the assistants, Domestic Bursars, Accountant, and storekeepers to the CID for investigation.

The conference of Heads of Assisted secondary schools CHASS has urged its members to ensure calm following the anger and agitation in the affected schools.
