It can be recollected that on the 23rd of March, 2021 the three main teacher unions the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and coalition of concern Teachers Ghana (CCT-GH) wrote a joint statement to the Honourable Minister of Education and the Ghana Education service about development that is affecting Teachers and Education delivery in Ghana.
In their joint statement, they wrote that “Teacher Unions, the Ghana National Association of Teachers, GNAT, the National
Association of Graduate Teachers, NAGRAT, and the Coalition of Concerned Teacher
CCT-GH, wish to bring to the attention of the Honourable Minister of Education and the
Ghana Education Service some developments affecting Teachers and education delivery in
the country,”

In the first and second paragraphs of their statement, they wrote nicely about the issue affecting Teachers. Some of the issues raised in the statement were responsibility Allowance for teachers and the upgrading of Teachers. All these very important points that indeed affect teachers were raised in their statement which made a lot of Teachers happy but did it takes effect?
In their last paragraph, these Teachers unions gave an empty threat to the Honourable Minister of Education and the Ghana Education service by giving them an ultimatum that by the end of April 2021 if these issues did not resolve they will use industrial action to get them to resolve
We are currently on 16th May 2021, and non of the single issues that were raised in their statement have been addressed. We in Educegh.com think the teacher unions have forgotten about the April 2021 ultimatum to the Ghana Education service and hereby reminding them to say something about their statement. Let’s Share to get them inform about their April 2021 Ultimatum they gave to the government concerning teachers upgrading.
