Are textbooks the only requirement for a successful roll out of a new curriculum?- Former NaCCA Director quiz

The Director-General of NaCCA, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah has questions Teachers who are so descending on the government for rolling out a new curriculum without providing textbooks because this is not the first time the country has revised its curriculum without providing textbooks immediately.

Calling on Teachers to stop complaining about textbooks, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah pointed to the fact, the free compulsory universal Basic Education (FCUBE) that was introduced in 1996, took more than four years before the first set of textbooks were written on the curriculum for schools, so Teachers should talk as if this is the first time curriculum has introduced without textbooks.

“In the fCUBE reforms which begun in 1996, it took more than four years after the syllabus review before the first set of textbooks written for the new curricula were ready in schools across the country in 2000. So, why are we so much on the government to ensure textbooks are ready for the new curriculum? Are textbooks the only requirements for successfully rolling out a curriculum reform?” Former Director-General of NaCCA.

“None of the curriculum reforms we have witnessed in the country in the last three decades was rolled out, concurrently with published textbooks for the new (reviewed) curriculum.” Former Director General of NaCCA.

He, therefore, questions Teachers whether textbooks are the only requirement for a successful rollout of a new curriculum.
