A group calling it’s self Aggrieved Teachers has called for the immediate resignation of Angel Carbonu has the president of the National Association of Graduate Teachers NAGRAT over the loss comment he made on Asempa FM that Teachers has no duty to ask the government the brand of Laptops they need but can negotiate for Teachers to pay 30% of the cost of the Laptops at the blind side of Teachers.

According to Angel Carbonu, the president of NAGRAT he stated that the price of the unit cost of 30% of the laptops Teachers are to pay is GH¢549.44. This means that 100% cost of the unit cost of the Laptop is GH¢1831.47 meanwhile the Deputy Minister of Education Reverend John Ntim Fordjour speaking on citinewsroom face to face program with Umaru Sanda Amadu said that the price of the unit cost of the Laptop for Teachers is GH¢1550.

Now Teachers are so upset with the President of NAGRAT, Mr. Angel Carbonu comment that Teachers cannot bargain for the brand of Laptops they want but he Angel Carbonu can negotiate to cheat Teachers.

According to them, the actual price of the laptop by Deputy Education Minister, John Ntim Fordjour has indicated that Angel Carbonu is not qualified to be the president of NAGRAT. Hence they called for his resignation.

The Aggrieved Teachers explained that they thought they have a Teacher union leader who will fight for the welfare of their members not knowing he’s there to negotiate for his selfish interest.

And on the issue of engagement with the members of the Teachers Union, Mr. Angel Carbonu stated that when the majority of the members agreed to do something it is binding to every member of the union but the majority of the Teachers are saying there was not a consultation on the procurement of the Laptops. They added that if Angel Carbon thinks he can negotiate for the price of Laptops but cannot tell the government the kind of Laptops they want then he should resign immediately as a president of NAGRAT.
