The Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has disclosed that the 2020 batch of newly qualified trained teachers will be posted this week.
Speaking on Ghana Broadcasting Cooperation (GBC) Talking point on Sunday 16th January 2022 Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum in responding to a question as to when the 2020 batch of newly qualified trained teachers will be posted now that basic schools will be reopening on Monday 18th January 2022, the minister stated that by this week everything concerning their posting will be done.
He added that the ministry and the Ghana Education Service were working on the holistic posting of the newly qualified trained teachers that has caused the delay coupled with the delay in reopening date of basic schools. He emphasize that this week newly qualified trained teachers will begin checking their posting status on the portal now that everything has been worked on.
Background
The 2020 batch of newly qualified trained teachers were asked by the management of the Ghana Education Service to apply for posting on the Ghana Education Service portal before the end of 31st December 2021. All those who qualify applied for the posting and still waiting to receive their postings from the Ghana Education Service.
The majority of them have complained about the delay by the Ghana Education Service in releasing their postings for them to prepare and go to school as basic schools are resuming on the 18th of January 2022.
But this clarification by the Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum on GBC Talking point has given hope to most of the newly qualified trained teachers of receiving their postings this week.
