The Honourable Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has disclosed that the welfare Portal meant to handle teachers related issues is to be launched in March 2022.
Speaking yesterday at peace Fm, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum said teachers’ welfare need to address effectively to make them feel happy when performing their duties.
According to Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum majority of teachers are in the classroom working seriously for mother Ghana meanwhile, their names have been taken off from payroll for almost six to seven months now.
Speaking to Host at peace Fm during the Kokrokoo show, the minister said some teachers’ names have been taken off from payroll while they are working in the classroom, this is so worrying and disturbing and needs to be addressed immediately.
He said the management of the Ghana Education Service is underway to launch a portal where teachers can go to make their problem known to GES headquarters directly where an officer in charge of the portal will work on them. He said at the portal the Director-General of Ghana Education Service can easily check this to see if the problems on the portal are reducing or not. This will also allow Adutwum to also monitor the portal.
According to Adutwum, this portal will help remove the process that a teacher will have to go through to get their salary issues solved.
