The Honourable Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has officially disclosed that the new Director General of Ghana Education Service Dr. Eric Nkansah has been tasked to work on the Promotions of teachers immediately
According to Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, working in the classroom room for some number of years without being given what you are due definitely “you will not be a happy employee”
“I don’t see the reason why you starve somebody for six months without staff IDs obviously they will not be happy employees and happy employees create a happy classroom environment,” he said
The minister further noted that his ministry has tasked the new Director General of Ghana Education Service to work seriously to address the issue of teacher promotions, especially those in the lower ranks for them to be given what is due them.
“We in the ministry of Education has directed Dr. Eric Nkansah to work seriously so that teachers’ promotions do not delay because it is not fair to have someone who has taught for two years and his promotion is due and every evaluation is done but not sent to GES headquarters.” He stated.
He explained that if Dr. Eric Nkansah need more people to work with to ensure that teachers’ promotions are not delayed the Education ministry will provide him with more workers to ensure promotions issues are addressed.
