GES Announces 2025 BECE and WASSCE Dates for School Candidates
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the dates for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates. This announcement serves as a crucial update for heads of Basic and Senior High/Technical Schools, as well as students preparing for these important examinations.
According to the statement issued by GES, the BECE for School Candidates (SC) will take place from June 9 to June 16, 2025, while the WASSCE for School Candidates (SC) is scheduled to run from August 4 to September 19, 2025. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will later communicate the registration period for both examinations to school heads to ensure smooth coordination.
Regional Directors of Education have been tasked with relaying this vital information to all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education. This will allow schools to adequately prepare their students for the upcoming exams.
The announcement highlights the importance of early preparation, as these examinations are critical in shaping the academic and professional futures of students. Parents, teachers, and school administrators are encouraged to take note of these dates and support students in their studies.
Signed by Prince Charles Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, on behalf of the Director-General, the letter reaffirms GES’s commitment to ensuring a smooth examination process. More updates regarding registration procedures will be shared in due course.
