Good news for the applicants of the 2020/2021 promotion exam who could not write the exam because of no index numbers


The general secretary of the Ghana national association of teachers (GNAT) that some teachers who applied for the 2020/2021 promotion exams did not write the exams because they were not having index numbers. These issues trouble most of the affected teachers but the general secretary has good news for these teachers upon realizing this problem.

It has come to the notice of the General Secretary, that a significant number of
teachers were not allowed to write the GES Promotion Test 2021, on the pretext
that they did not have index numbers for it.

We have taken the issue up and made the Director-General of Ghana

Education Service aware that it Was no fault of theirs that the affected teachers

did not have the said index numiber

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service has promised, in a press

release Ref. GES/PR/RELEASE/62, dated 24 February. 2021, that a
the supplementary test would be organized for the affected teachers upon provision

of their details for verification. Indeed, during his tour of the Accra College of

In the light of this, we urge all affected teachers to remain calm, since leadership

is working to ensure that they are not disadvantaged, and believing that the said
supplementary tests would be organized for them as promised.
