It is unwise to sign a performance contract without the needed materials to work with.

Basic schools Teachers have been forced by the management of the Ghana Education Service to sign a performance contract without necessarily knowing the consequences of these contracts they are signing.
According to Cambridge English Dictionary, A contract is an agreement between two or more parties, to perform a specific job or work order, often temporary or of fixed duration and usually governed by a written agreement.

Now headmasters of basic schools in the country is going in agreement with the employer without necessarily being mindful of the tools they are going to work with and the consequences they and their staff are going to face should they fail to achieve their target.

The rate at which Basic schools headmaster/headmistress and their staff have been intimidated, disrespected remote control, and reduce to nothing by the Ghana Education Service is too much and if there need for our Education sector to improve then that attitude must change.

Last week the three teacher unions called GES to explain to them the consequences of that performance contract before their members can assign their signatures on it or else they will result to strike action by September 2021.

But I think September is far and if there must be any action against the performance contract by Teacher unions is should be now and not September. How can you just sit in your office plan something and can throw it on the nose of people you call your workers and called it agreement while you have not provided them with the needed materials to work with.
