License teachers who failed to attend CPD training will not be admitted into the teaching profession – NTC

The management of the National Teaching Council has disclosed that unemployed licensed teachers who failed to attend continuous professional development training while waiting for employment into the Ghana Education Service will not be admitted into the teaching Service.

According to the National Teaching Council Teacher’s professional development framework, licensed teachers shall be required to submit workshop training, seminars as evidence for the renewal of their license but any teacher who failed to provide evidence of their workshop shall be asked to attend professional development training for renewal or forfeit the teaching Service.

“License teachers who are not practicing teaching shall be required to submit evidence of their workshop, training, and seminars attended which relate to the teaching profession. If such is not provided for renewal the teacher concern may be requested to attend Professional developments related to the current rank before readmission into the profession” Teachers’ continuous professional development framework said.

It is of the view of the National Teaching Council that both employed and unemployed license teachers provide evidence of their workshops, seminars training at the time of their license renewal or failed to be admitted into the teaching Service.
