The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has given the Control and Accountant General Department (CAGD) a one-week ultimatum to transfer monies meant second tier two pension and union dues to their fund managers or face their wrath.
During an interview at TV3 news, the president of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Mr. Angel Carbonu stated that over 700,000 public sector workers have been deducted by the Controller and Accountant General Department CAGD their monies which are getting into billions of cedis and yet CAGD has not transferred this money to the fund managers.
Mr. Angel Carbonu said, “At the end of every month Controller and Accountant General Department deducts money from the salaries of Ghanaian workers and some of the monies deducted are dues to the various unions.”
He explained that “Some of the monies are obligations that the workers have with some financial institutions and some of the deductions for Tier Two pension.”
He stated that “As we speak Deductions have taken place from August, Controller is not paid the pensions deductions to the various schemes for investments,”
The president wants the monies transferred to the respective fund managers including the union dues of their members or faces their wrath.
