Newly trained teachers’ portfolio Assessment by NTC is currently on hold. Take note

The leadership of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana TTAG has indicated that base on the information they have received from the Director of Teachers Professional Development, Mr. Lawrence Sarpong, the portfolio Assessment of Newly trained teachers is currently on hold until further notice.

According to National Teaching Council NTC, the Newly trained teachers graduating from Colleges of Education were supposed to do portfolio Assessments before they are posted by the Ghana Education Service to teach in the classroom.

Though not a bad idea on the part of the National Teaching Council NTC but many social media users have made it look like the portfolio Assessment is as ugly as Teachers can think and which sometimes creates fears in the newly trained teachers.

The leadership of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana TTAG through the National Coordinator has encouraged the entire TTAG members and Newly trained teachers to desist from the social media message and recording that is trying to create fear and panic in newly trained teachers about the whole portfolio Assessment issue.

TTAG again has assured it’s newly trained teachers that the portfolio Assessment assessors will no more becoming to their various schools to assess them until the leadership of TTAG meet with NTC the second time.
