The authorities of the National Identification Authorities wish to inform the general public to disassociate themselves from the false publication that is circulating on social media about them doing their services for money.
National Identification Authorities wrote that it has come to their notice that there is an announcement circulating on social media platforms indicating that those who fail to register their Ghana card will force to pay a penalty fee of gh¢250 before they will do their Ghana card registration. NIA wants the public to disregard this information.
NIA wants the general public to know that those who are circulating this information are not from the NIA and for that matter, NIA has nothing to do with information like that hence the general public should treat it as fraudulent information.
NIA wants to state it categorically that there is no fee for failing to register your Ghana card during the mass registration.
The authorities stated that there will be permanent Regional and District offices open in June this year to continue with the registration, Card Issuance, and card replacement and updates.
The authority charge gh¢250 for premium service only. This service is only available at the head office.
