One laptop one teacher initiative a deliberate attempt by Teacher unions to steal from their members

Pre-tertiary Teachers are so disappointed and disrespected by the way their so-called union’s leadership is now hiding from their members to intentionally steal from the meager salaries, aside from the monthly union dues.

These one teacher one laptop initiative that came to the limelight on 21st January 2021, most Teachers thought it was the initiative of the government and the Ghana Education Service to forcefully put the burden on Teachers not knowing it was their union leadership that brought that initiative to steal from their members.

Thanks to the Innovative Teachers unions that threatened to sue Management of the Ghana Education Service that made GES clear the mind of the pre-tertiary Teachers. In GES reply to the innovative Teachers union, they stated clearly that “it was the teacher unions, GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCTGH that negotiated for the package for its members”.

The question Teachers asked is, who is mandated to provide Teachers with tools and materials to teacher in the classroom? Our union leaders know very well that is not their mandate to provide Teachers with tools and materials to teachers yet the have hide behind to negotiate a shade deal with the employer just because the know the will siphon money from the ordinary teachers the called their members without any struggle.

The silence on the part of GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCTGH after the GES and Innovative Teachers union fight, has clearly shown that they were indeed championing these whole laptops deal and making it look like it was GES that was making it compulsory for all teachers to take these laptops.
