Some concerns parents are calling on the government to allow them to pay the fees of their children in the senior high school. Speaking on joy news yesterday some of these parents call this fee-paying in senior high school to be better these free senior high school policy.
One listener of the program expressed his concern about some of the challenges of the implementation of the free senior high school policy. According to the person he pays Gh¢8000 to get his daughter and son to get extra classes in the house which he thinks it will have been better for them to pay for their wards fees in the SHS than continuing with this free senior high school policy.
Another parent who also called in raised the same concerns that he pays gh¢350 for his ward to get extra classes. He alleged that nowadays the free senior high school policy costs more than even paying fees for their children.
They then called on the government to address the challenges that the free senior high school is facing or allow them to pay their children school fees.
It can be recalled that the Chief Executive Officer CEO of Africa Education watch Mr. Kofi Asare also raised the same concerns that the free senior high school policy is costing more than even paying children fees in the senior high schools.
Although every policy comes with a lot of challenges but some children from poor Backgrounds are also benefiting from this free senior high school policy. Goverment has to look at both the positive and negative of this policy to make a decision that will be fair to all.
