Teacher unions call for an immediate refund of deductions on teachers professional allowance


The management of the three major teacher unions Ghana National Association of Teachers GNAT, National Association of Graduate Teachers NAGRAT, and Coalition of concern teachers Ghana CCTGH have jointly called for the refund of the National Teaching Council NTC license fee deduction on teachers professional allowance.

According to the teacher unions, the wishes to bring to the notice of National Teaching Council NTC the continuous deduction of NTC Teacher license fee of GH¢100 against teachers, the union leaders Stated that the same amount was deducted in 2020 by the controller and Accountant General Department on behalf of the National Teaching Council NTC.

The management of three Teacher unions explained that they find this deduction arbitrary and unfair labor practice for the National Teaching Council and Controller and Accountant General Department to do that to teachers and therefore call for the immediate cessation and the refund of that money to the affected teachers.

Teacher unions want the deduction of the NTC Teacher license fee of GH¢100 not to appear in the November 2021 payslip of teachers to ensure industrial peace.
