The management of the Ghana Education Service has stated categorically clear that Teachers were effectively trained on the new curriculum before they were asked to go and implement it in their various schools.
In a press conference organized by the management of Ghana Education Service to address Teachers’ concerns the Director-General of Ghana Education Service, prof. Opoku Amankwa stated that Teachers were given enough training on the new curriculum before its implementation.
He explained that is it unfortunate that the media houses only hype the food aspects that Teachers complained about during training but for the training of teachers on the curriculum the media failed to talk about it.
Matters arising during the press briefing indicate that when GES invited teacher unions after the unions issued a press statement on 10th August 2021 and gave government by September 2021 to address those challenges or else the result to strike action. It shows that in the meeting the three Teacher unions representative did not have a point to explain themselves.
