The Minister of Finance has disclosed that the National Standardized Examination that will be written by all basic 4 pupils across all public primary schools in the country will be written in December 2021.
Speaking in Parliament house yesterday 17th November 2021, the minister of finance Mr. Ken Ofori Atta made it clear that the results of the standardized test will enable the ministry to cross-check and correct the implementation of the new curriculum. This will enable the ministry to institute relevant intervention for pupils who do not meet the proficiency level of a particular course area.
He stated that the examination will assess pupils’ proficiency levels in literacy and numeracy. Meanwhile, the standardized test for primary six and primary four will be postponed to the next year 2022.
The minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, earlier in the year 2021 stated that the standardized test for Basic four pupils in all public basic schools in the country will be conducted by the West Africa Examination Council WAEC. Basic schools teachers were asked to prepare their students for the maiden edition of the National Standardized Test.
